Additional account holders and under-18s
You may be able to add another cardholder to your account, for example a family member. You will usually be able to manage what they can do on your account, such as accessing information and making transactions.
You will be responsible for the additional card holder’s use of the card.
Age related sales
Legally, some goods or services, such as alcohol or lottery tickets, can only be sold to people who are over a certain age.
All retailers or businesses selling age-restricted goods or services are legally responsible for checking the age of their customer. Should they sell to underage customers, they face fines or even imprisonment, so you may be asked for identification to verify your age.
Paying with a credit card is not in itself proof that you are over 18, as additional account holders can be younger.
